Dessert by Lucy

Lucy, our friends' 14-year old daughter, made these incredibly elegant rasberry tarts for dessert. The tinted glass dish and mint garnish complete the presentation!

Gelato in the Marais

After strolling through Paris Plages, along the transformed banks of the Seine, we stopped by a gelato shop for a rose-shaped cone. My daughter chose mango wrapped around chocolate.

Another weak moment in Paris…

Pretty decent chirashizushi in the Marais. Went well with a nice, dry rosé from Provence.

Parisian Bento

Took the kids to Jyuji-ya, a bento shop on Rue Ste. Anne near Place de l'Opéra. €30 for 1 adult, 2 kids; that's $42!!!

オペラ座の近くにある弁当ショップ「十時屋」。子供を連れて行ったら何と親子３人で €３０！（約４千円）

They're Japanese but totally have the French attitude down pat.

Beautiful boulangerie in the Latin Quarter - love the name. Great sandwiches for lunch.

Paris

Our friend, Sylvie, is a retail stylist in Paris and always puts together fantastic meals. She had us over for a wonderful dinner of an assortment of brochettes, all beautifully presented.
Dessert: a rasberry meringue cake from Le Nôtre!

After dinner, we took the kids to La Fête des Tuileries, a summer carnival at Le Jardin des Tuileries, smack in the middle of Paris.
